Christophe Castaner, the French government spokesman, was elected ceo of President Emmanuel Macron’s centrist party on Saturday.
Castaner was the one candidate for that post on a closed-door meeting within the La Rpublique en Marche (LRM) party’s national council in Lyon, Le Monde reported.
Some party members complained about without needing selecting candidates. A hundred of those submitted a notice today resigning through the party, citing what they have to said would have been a deficiency of democracy.
Although Castaner will be LRM’s day-to-day boss, Macron will continue to be the party’s leading figure.
It was unclear whether Castaner would maintain the us govenment as spokesman and minister for relations with parliament.
Castaner said on Twitter which he was \”honored\” to be elected, adding that he would dedicate himself to your movement and gives voice to everyone its supporters.
