Former Prime Minister Fran?ois Fillon formally stepped down from French politics Sunday, handing above the presidency of his movement, Force Rpublicaine, to fellow conservative Bruno Retailleau.

Fillon joined a Paris-based investment group, Tikehau Capital, on September 1, and is particularly working toward launching a foundation for minorities’ rights, he told Le Figaro.
